1963

Mr Nielsen

Foundation of the company by Erling Juul Nielson in Vipperod, Denmark, under the name of SCANDINAVIAN DIAMOND PRODUCTS – SCAN-DIA.

1964

A first complete range of equipment and consumables for the field of metallography is presented.

Hans Peter Tempelmann takes charge of the sole agencies for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

1965-1970

The international distribution is constantly developed and extended.

1972

Mr Tempelmann

Hans P. Tempelmann buys the company and transfers it to Hagen/Westphalia. Initially, the production takes place in rented premises in Hagen.

As a result of the sale, the company's logo and the company's name change to SCAN-DIA Hans P. Tempelmann GmbH & Co. KG.

The product range is constantly extended and new agencies are established in Europe and the United States.

1982

A SCAN-DIA building is raised on the premises of the Tempelmann Group in Hagen.

1995

Mr Blankenagel

Dipl.-Ing. Matthias Blankenagel joins the company. He expands the international relations and extends the distribution in Asia.

1997

Hans P. Tempelmann dies. He actively managed the company from 1972 to 1995.

1998

A new generation of SCANDIMATIC grinding and polishing machines with a new design appears on the market.

2013

SCAN-DIA celebrates its 50 years. It is offered a refreshed appearance, a new company logo, and a new CD.

The company name is now SCAN-DIA GmbH & Co. KG.
